John Steinbeck

How did John Steinbeck’s personal life affect his literary life?
John Steinbeck’s background
Did you know that John Steinbeck wrote “The Grapes of Wrath” in four months?
Also, if you read “Of Mice and Men” or “East of Eden”, you’ll notice that the antagonists are women, Curly’s wife and Cathy/Katie respectively. Steinbeck himself went through three marriages. When he was writing “East of Eden”, he channeled a lot of the first divorce that he was going through at the time into his writing.
There are a lot of other things… I could write a book. I suggest that you read a lot of material on him. He’s an impressive person.
